More than 40 countries were represented at OrangeTechDays 2026, as AuCom brought customers, partners, suppliers, and employees together in Sendenhorst and officially opened its new Customer Experience Center.

OrangeTechDays 2026 brought visitors into the environment where AuCom products are developed, manufactured, and supported. Across the week, customers, partners, suppliers, students, and employees took part in factory tours, workshops, technical discussions, and sessions with AuCom teams.

The program culminated on Friday, September 18, with the opening of AuCom’s new Customer Experience Center on Schörmelweg. Completed after around nine months of construction, the four-story facility adds approximately 735 m² to the Sendenhorst site.

For Amconex Group CEO Christoph Vogel, the new center reflects the wider direction of the business.

“This is a clear commitment to growing our business and creating additional value in the future.”

Bringing the trade show in-house

The week began with local school visits and internal workshops before shifting to suppliers, customers, and partners.

On Wednesday, suppliers toured AuCom’s production facilities to see where their components are used within finished equipment. The day also included a session with Prof. Lückmann on supply chain risk and intercultural management.

Customers and partners followed later in the week with factory tours, workshops, and technical sessions across the Sendenhorst site.

The in-house format gave visitors direct access to the manufacturing environment behind AuCom’s products and to the engineering, production, and support teams involved in bringing them to market.

For Amconex, that is an important distinction. Trade shows remain valuable, but hosting customers within one of the Group’s own operating businesses allows more time for technical discussion, more context around the technology, and more direct access to the people behind it.

A new place for customer exchange

The new Customer Experience Center gives AuCom a permanent setting for customer visits, technical sessions, and future events.

The facility includes meeting and innovation areas, product displays, and room for up to 50 workstations. Around 180 people work at AuCom’s Sendenhorst site, supporting products supplied to customers in more than 150 countries.

“You can supply the whole world from Sendenhorst, and we’ve been doing exactly that for years,” says Thomas Zirk-Gunnemann, Managing Director of AuCom Germany. “But the heart of the company is here in Münsterland. That’s why we chose to build here. This building is our commitment to the location.”

Looking at the industry ahead

Friday’s program also included a keynote from Dr. Christian von Toll of Weidmüller Germany, a long-standing AuCom partner.

His presentation, “AuCom & Weidmüller: Shaping the industry of tomorrow together,” focused on the continued role of automation and digitalization in industrial systems.

“Our core vision is to keep automating and digitalizing.”

Connecting with the next generation

OrangeTechDays also included visits from around 120 local students, introducing them to careers in engineering, manufacturing, and technology.

Students built an electrical circuit, tried technical drawing, programmed a traffic light, and toured the production floor. The visits formed part of AuCom’s wider work with local schools and its apprenticeship programs in industrial electronics, industrial business administration, and IT systems integration.

The week concluded with the opening celebration and summer festival, bringing customers, employees, family members, and neighbors together at the new center.

With the Customer Experience Center now open, AuCom has a dedicated place in Sendenhorst to continue hosting customers, partners, training, and technical exchange beyond OrangeTechDays.
